I’m excited to announce that I now have a Facebook group for: Trains, Buses, Hostels and Home Stays.
This was something I wanted to do when I finished writing my book. But then I went travelling. And then I got home just as the world was shutting down due to COVID-19. Honestly I haven’t felt motivated to talk about travel, until now.
Finally, as part of the world begins to loosen restrictions I’m feeling optimistic once again. Although I probably won’t leave my own country this year, the current situation won’t last forever. So now is a great time to plan and start to connect with others.
My inspiration for this Facebook group was a website called “TravBuddy”, unfortunately it no longer exists, which is too bad😢. The site was full of resources and it had 1000’s of members willing to answer questions and give advice. You could also message with individual members in countries around the world.
With limited funds and many places I wanted to see on my first trip to Europe, I was searching for different travel options when I discovered TravBuddy. It was because of TravBuddy that I decided to stay in my first hostel and travel around Europe by train. I learned so much from the TravBuddy website and they gave me the confidence I needed to try new adventures. I even met one TravBuddy in Dublin for dinner, another member toured me around London. When I went to China on another trip, a TravBuddy took me for lunch in Beijing.
My hope for this Facebook group is that it will also bring travellers together from various locations to share their knowledge as well as inspire others with their tips and helpful information.
So climb abroad and have fun connecting and communicating with travellers from around the world.
